Project2Excel is an integration tool for Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel. User defined templates provide users the ability to export data to Excel while retaining the hierarchical structure contained within Microsoft Project. In addition to exporting information to Excel, the user defined templates provide users with the ability to specify which information can be modified and ultimately imported back into the Microsoft Project Plan. Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) source code is incuded with this product.

The following lists the integration capabilities:

Retain hierarchical structures: Hierarchical structures contained within the Microsoft Project plan are retained during the export. Hierarchy is not limited by Microsoft Excel?s outline capabilities.

Collapse and expand summary tasks: Collapse and expand capabilities related to summary tasks are retained during export. This is achieved by leveraging the hyperlink and named range capabilities of Microsoft Excel.

Multi-Line Output: Each task, resource or assignment can span multiple Microsoft Excel rows.

Cell Formatting: Users can specify the formatting of each field exported to Microsoft Excel.

Lock Cells: Users can specify which fields are locked after export to Microsoft Excel.

Extended Microsoft Excel Formula Language: An extended formula language is provided to support calculations based on Microsoft Project?s calculations. Formulas can be created that will propagate with each task, resource or assignment exported to Excel.

Import data from Microsoft Excel to Microsoft Project: Users can specify which data can be imported from Microsoft Excel spreadsheets created with Project2Excel into Microsoft Project.

VBA Source Code: Developers can extend the capabilities of Project2Excel by modifying the VBA source code provided with this product.
