OpenThinClient is released as an open source software under the GNU General Public License (GPL) v2, and it is available for download free of charge. The OpenThinClient Thin Client operating system is based on a customized Ubuntu Linux distribution optimized for use in diskless devices. Booting and configuration of the Thin Clients is implemented using industry-standard technologies like LDAP, DHCP, PXE, TFTP and NFS. OpenThinClient provides a powerful, Java-based graphical user interface to manage all aspects of the Thin Clients under its control. Furthermore, it supports integration with Enterprise-wide management environments like LDAP or MS ADS.
