Adjusting your monitor settings properly is essential for surfing the net, as well as for viewing your digital images. Whether you are using an LCD or CRT monitor - its colors should be both pleasing and realistic.

CalibrationAider by Imaging Associates helps you optimize your monitor settings and offers some insight into color management.
The program provides a tutorial that will help you get a feel for how to use CalibrationAider as well as understand the basics of the RGB color system.

The program works as follows: you open a test image and apply to it differing color settings (Color Space, Filter and Saturation). There are built-in test patterns; you can also load your own images. You can test one image at a time, or arrange image copies in different layouts (columns, rows, or a grid). Then, by right-clicking on an image you open a context menu for changing its color settings and compare them for further monitor calibration.

Though CalibrationAider will not apply selected setting instantly to your monitor, nevertheless it will help you decide on what setting are optimal for you.
