AlSong is a free music player with an opportunity to display lyrics.

Several skins and color themes will allow you to make the player look most pleasant. AlSong comes with a number of standard features such as volume and play controls, buttons letting you navigate between tracks, etc. Using the equalizer you can apply one of the built-in presets or create your own.

The playlist can be viewed as a list either of files or folders. To help you organize music files in a convenient way, virtual folders can be created. Moreover, you can find a song quickly by using playlist search.

A distinctive feature offered by AlSong is the opportunity to see lyrics synchronized with a song. However, you must have an Internet connection because the lyrics are taken from the Song Lyrics Server. Although there are lyrics of many songs, it is very probable that lyrics of most songs on your playlist won’t be found. In this case you can create and submit the lyrics yourself. For this purpose there is a special editor that can also be used to edit existing lyrics submitted by other people if you are annoyed by some spelling mistakes, misprints, missing lines or if synchronization is not precise.

Several controls offered in the Language Learner window allow you to alter the speed and pitch of a song, play some piece of a song repeatedly and even listen to a song played backwards. However, I can hardly imagine how these functions, especially the reverse playback, can help anyone to learn a language and improve their listening skills.
