Learning new vocabulary units is usually a most challenging task when studying a foreign language. Lingo Vocabulary Trainer offers its users a non-common way of memorizing words. Instead of simple cramming, users can now employ technological advances and learn words with this software.

The basic principle of the program is: First type it in and then you can use it. That means that before getting down to studying as such, you will have to type in the words you wish to master. It can be very inconvenient, if not to say tiring and irritating, when you have a vocabulary list of, let us say, 100 words. It becomes even more so taking into account the fact that you will have to type in the words together with their translations.

All the words you type in are categorized into languages, books and groups, that form a tree on the left panel. After you choose a group of words, its contents are displayed in the main window, with words from your language in the left column and foreign words in the right column. You can edit the lists by changing their names and adding or deleting pairs of words.

The most valuable feature of the software is its quizzes, by means of which you can do both memorize new words and check how well you know them. Users can determine quizzing direction, its duration and set some minor parameters.

The thing we feel sorry about is the lack of audio support. Learning new words with the program could be much more beneficial if users could hear the correct pronunciation of words as well.

On the whole, the software performs reliably and can be helpful for users who are not afraid of typing in thousands of words.
