SurfPack.com Editor Review of Active MP3 Tray
2006-10-24
Active MP3 Tray
At first startup, the program scans your hard drive for music files, which can take up several minutes to complete. After it the program runs in your system tray. When you click the program icon, you get access to a pop-up menu with all your music files automatically grouped by genre.
The settings dialog also lets you group tracks by artist, album name, year etc. The inclusion of an ID3 tag editor is a nice touch: if you want to change information about a track you can do it with a right click on a file name. The appearance of the popup menu can also be customized to your liking.
Music can be played in any external player. If you have more than one player on your hard drive, you can select a path to any of them using the settings dialog.
Unfortunately, though it is said that Active MP3 Tray supports multilingual interface, English interface is only available in the current version.
