Being free and occupying little space on your hard drive, PastePerfect can serve as a worthy alternative for the Windows built-in paste option.

PastePerfect docks in the tray for easy access and stores the last five files or text extracts that were copied by the user. These items are comfortably listed by the software with their icons displayed beside as well. If you move the cursor onto an item, you will get a number of options applicable to it: you will be able to paste the item right now, paste it to the desktop, preview it, delete it or see its properties. A handy feature of the program is that you can paste any item immediately just by double-clicking it, no matter if it is a text extract, an image or something else. It is a pity though that *.doc files are inserted as images, not as texts.

Besides the basic paste function, the software is also supplied with extra functions. For instance, PastePerfect lets you build sequences (e.g. the user ID and the password) that can easily be inserted into the necessary fields when you log on to your e-mail box. Or else, the program has a collection of images, texts and sequences archived by you. It is organized in simple folders and offers you the opportunity of using those files again later. Quite strangely, however, PastePerfect did not react properly when we tried to move an image and then a portion of text to the collection (or visa versa): as soon as the latter was inserted, the former simply disappeared from its folder.

Among other flaws is malfunctioning of the Organize button. In fact, it just did not work in our tests.

Finally, PastePerfect collects commercials from the Internet, if you are logged on to it at the moment, and displays them in a small window. An ad can be replaced with another one by clicking the Next ad button.

Overall, despite some downsides, PastePerfect can become a useful utility for those users who need an advanced paste option on their computer.
